Namibia's Caprivi Region – The African Fish Eagle

Explore the unique wilderness area of the Caprivi Region in 15 days! Experience this area which is in stark contrast to the rest of Namibia with its great abundance of wildlife and lush vegetation.

Day 1: Airport – Windhoek

Arrive in Windhoek. Spend the day at leisure by visiting the historical features like the ‘Christuskirche’ the most prominent church in Windhoek and the parliamentary building or go shopping in the lively city centre of Windhoek.

Day 2: Windhoek – Frans Indongo Lodge (B)

The journey leads you to the Frans Indongo Lodge just north of Otjiwarongo. Leave Windhoek and drive via Okahandja to Otjiwarongo. Take part on an optional game drive at the Frans Indongo Lodge which gives you a good introduction to the area you are visiting.

Day 3: Frans Indongo Lodge – Etosha National Park (B)

Depart for the Etosha National Park after breakfast and drive via Otavi and Tsumeb, a mining town, to the eastern entrance of the National Park. Before entering the park you can visit the Otjikoto Lake. On your first game drive you will get to know some of the abundant wildlife Namibia has to offer.

Day 4: Etosha National Park (B)

Spend the day with game-viewing in the Etosha National Park.

Day 5: Etosha National Park – Rundu (B)

Today you will reach the northern border of Namibia. Travel to the eastern part of Rundu to arrive at the Kaisosi River Lodge. Late in the afternoon you can join a sundowner cruise.

Day 6: Rundu – Mahangu National Park (B/D)

Drive along the Trans-Caprivi-Highway to the Mahangu National Park. En route you can visit the Popa Falls. The lodge is close to the boarder of this National Park, one of Namibia’s most diverse and interesting conservation areas and on then shores of the Okavango River.

Day 7: Mahangu National Park (B/D)

Today you have the opportunity to go on a full day game drive through the park. Should you be lucky you might see elephants and hippos.

Day 8: Mahangu National Park – Chobe Safari Lodge (B/D)

Today you are reaching the eastern part of Namibia. The journey will take you through the charming landscape of the Caprivi Strip whilst driving via Katima Mulilo to Botswana. You will experience the rich wildlife during your stay at the Chobe Safari Lodge.

Day 9: Chobe River Lodge (B/D)

You will have the opportunity to take part in an activity offered by the lodge e.g. a boat trip on the river.

Day 10: Chobe Safari Lodge - Namushasha Lodge (B)

The next leg of your journey will take you via the vibrant Katima Mulilo and Kongola. Enjoy the beautiful surrounds on the way to the Mudumu National park. The lodge is situated out side the park.

Day 11: Namushasha (B)

You may visit one of the traditional villages of the region near Namushasha. This is be a show village. In the afternoon you may take part on an optional guided game drive in the Bwata Bwata National Park.

Day 12: Namushasha Lodge - Rundu (B)

After breakfast you will be retuning to the Kaisosi River Lodge via Kongola and Divundu. Experience one of the most beautiful landscape settings.

Day 13: Rundu - Waterberg (B)

Today you drive back towards the south passing through Grootfontein, Otavi and Otjiwarongo to the Waterberg Mountain. Get to know the surrounding area of the Waterberg and time permitting, take a hike.

Day 14: Waterberg – Windhoek (B)

Drive back to the capital city of Namibia, Windhoek. Visit a woodcarvers market in Okahandja.

Day 15: Windhoek - Airport (B)

Depart from Windhoek to the Windhoek Airport for your flight home.
